Jamaica No Problem!

The last week of Augest, 6 months after we got married we enjoyed out hooneymoon, discovering Jamaica (and the all-inclusive vacations). WE had some good adventures, walking into the "down town" part of Montego bay, a tour trip snorcaling on the coral reff and to the dunsriver falls, some slrols to the local markets near the resort, and some good times on the beach. Here are just a few pictures from our adventure! Picture 026I had my hair braided..kept it nice and neat the whole week AWSOME! This September I will be part of The Weekend to End Breast Cancer.  I will be walking 60 km over 2 days with a team of 9 women and thousands of others through the neighbourhoods of Toronto.  This is my first year walking and am very excited about training and participating in this life changing event.  Not only have we all committed to walking the 60km we have made the commitment to raise $2000.00, all proceeds benefit The Campbell Family Institute at The Princess Margaret, funding important women’s cancer research, education, services and care.  You can learn more about the walk or where the proceeds go at http://to09.endcancer.ca/site/PageServer?pagename=to09_homepage.  You can sponsor me directly on my personal page, http://www.endcancer.ca/site/TR/Events/Toronto2009?px=2969902&pg=personal&fr_id=1323 .  Thank you all for being apart of this journey.

Winter Sports Day

Picture 167 Every year RMC hold a winter sports day were some cadets from the West Point Military Academy in the states, and everyone gets dressed up warm and plays outside. The games can be competitive and there is a wining squadron but everyone has fun. Squadron sprit is high and people are flying high with excitement. During the opening parade one guy took off running in his boxers and his body painted his squadron color. Now remember it’s the beginning of February IN CANADA! Oh what people will do to get there team pumped up! They play snow soccer, football or rugby (I’m not sure which) they do relay’s, ball hockey and of course ice hockey. This year cam played ball hockey and of course since we are the current lead team of the indoor ball hockey we lost every game of the out door. With the ice build up and slush on the ground we were glad no one got hurt, though we had some nice falls. Cameron also filled in for a game of snow soccer when they were short handed. By the last game of ball hockey I even had a chance to throw on a helmet and join in the fun. Picture 059 Picture 145

Tis' the season

Tis' the season to do lots of backing and cooking and all sorts of good things, and with many people in the country lacking the food drives are in full force. So our cell (small) group we decided for our "fun" night we would all meet at the grocery store and pool our money together and shop for the food bank. Here are a couple pictures from our adventure in the grocery store:) IMG_3966our gang IMG_3968

Before I "Fly the coop for good"

Kari 026 Last weekend I was spoiled by none other then the greatest Dad is the world. With less then 90 days till my big day Dad thought the two of us should spend some quality time together. So off we flew to Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, were we drove to Lancaster and went to the sights and sounds theater. Best live theater (I think in the world) the stage was 300 ft long, with live animals and fantastic actors. The production we went to see was the Christmas Story starting at the betrothal of Mary and Joseph till the birth of Christ, it was truly amazing I enjoyed every minute. Kari 045a shot from the out side (the place was BIG) The next day we went to check out the reconstruction of the tabernacle that Moses build in Bible times which was a real “hands on” experience. Later we headed back on rout to Philly and stopped for a buggy ride in an Amish Community. We road along the country side to a store and back, it was like living in the olden days of house and buggy. It was neat to learn about the coulter if the Amish. After that we enjoyed a scenic rout back to Philly (quite pretty with a skiff of snow). Kari 075our Buggy After getting settled in our hotel in New Jersey we headed back over the Ben Franklin Bridge to The Wachovia Stadium to see the Flyers play the Coyotes, again another fun and exciting event. Kari 141 Sunday brought on our day in Philadelphia where we went on a tour trolley getting on and off and different locations around the city. This was like an information overload day there was so much to be told about the city and sooooo much to see. We enjoyed lunch in China Town and ran up the Rocky stairs, was a bit of the Philly Marathon, saw Ben Franklins Grave and much much much much more Kari 114 TO DAD Thanks DAD this was truly the trip of a lifetime! I love you soo much .....your Daughter who you have spoiled rotten! hugs and kisses Kari
